Habitat does not rent, sell, lease, or otherwise share personally identifying customer data such as names, addresses, and contact information submitted during web purchases to outside entities, except if and when directed to do so by law enforcement. In the normal course of browsing our website, information such as IP addresses, domain names, geographical location, and the like may be gathered, in the aggregate, by web service providers to help us monitor the usage of our site and improve upon its functions. Credit card information is handled through a third party financial institution and payment gateway for the purposes of completing our transactions, and these parties are certified to uphold financial security standards as required by law. No such information is stored by Habitat.
Return & Exchange Policy
30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with your purchase within 30 days of receipt, you may return the product for a refund or exchange if the product is unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping cost is the responsibility of the customer, along with any insurance and tracking necessary to ensure the item arrives intact and undamaged, and a 10% restocking will be deducted unless the item is exchanged for an item of equal or greater value. Original shipping materials must be included. A refund for the price of the merchandise will be issued only after Habitat receives and inspects the item and determines it is in as-shipped condition and not damaged, altered, or misused in any way. Item must be returned with the receipt and/or associated paperwork. The original outgoing shipping charge from habitatgift.com is not refundable. Please contact us for a Return Authorization number before shipping.
Refused Shipments and Incorrect Addresses
If shipments are returned to Habitat due to the customer refusing a shipment or providing an incorrect or undeliverable address, the shipping costs both to and from the customer will be deducted from the refund of the item, and a 10% restocking fee deducted as described above.
Damaged or Defective Shipments/Wrong Items
If the customer receives damaged merchandise or items which were not ordered, Habitat will issue a return label for return shipping at our expense, but only if reported within five days of receipt. Defective merchandise will be subject to the requirements of the manufacturer first, and will be handled by Habitat only after contact with the manufacturer has not produced a satisfactory resolution.
Return Policy for Drop-Shipped Items
Some items purchased from habitatgift.com will ship directly from the manufacturer. In these cases, customers will incur two types of charges deducted from the refund for any accepted returned item:
- The drop ship cost for the item
- The shipping cost both to and from the customer
